August 24th, 2009
Yet again, the iPhone’s accelerometer gets confused by the seemingly simple task of orientation. Thanks to Liam for sending this in!

It’s been too long, but we’re pleased to say we now have an absolute bucket load of FAILs to publish, thanks to all of you loyal FAILers
To kick off again, here’s a pretty horrendous screw up involving Safari, the Slide to Unlock Home Screen, and a notification/message (we can’t quite understand). Fantastic, a big thanks to Henrik Hyldig for sending this in.

We found this truly broken iPhone on Flickr. It looks like a poor old 3G got a bit battered, I think this is the most damaged (yet still working) iPhone I’ve seen. Nice repair job though. Check out the Set of photos by NeilsPhotographs.

Not entirely sure how this happened. It’s one of our own FAILs this time.

When will our apps learn to stay upright? Thanks to Crid for sending this in.
To celebrate the Bank Holiday Weekend, we thought we would showcase some of our favourite ‘Giant’ iPhone Failures. Even promotional devices have their pitfalls and are never exempt from failure! Passers-by were fortunate enough to witness such failures on the rather large screen, and now thanks to iPhoneFAIL you can too! Enjoy

Somebody needs to tell the manager of this department store in Mexico to turn their iPhone display the right way around: Steve would not be impressed!
Thanks to Humberto Garcia Hinojosa for sending this bad-boy in, we literally LOLed at it. Epic FAIL!
The second failure is one of our own, exhibiting an on-screen message of Airport’s failure to connect to a network. This was captured outside the Carphone Warehouse in Tottenham Court Road, London, and we found that the message was still up a day later!

Lastly, it’s not just the banks that are failing at Canary Wharf… Upon our recent visit to no.1 Canada Square, the display iPhone at Carphone Warehouse was frozen on the weather widget with no signs of moving off.

Thanks again to everyone who has sent FAILs in - we’ve got so many we’re spoilt for choice! If you’ve got a FAIL, you can submit it here.

Not entirely sure why there would be a black box covering all app info, but I’m sure there were good intentions there somewhere. Thanks to Alex Deida for sending this in.

Thanks to Yashin for sending this in!

Thanks to Alexandre for sending this (and many more) in. We’ve now got over 100 unique FAILs ready and waiting - thanks again for sending them in and keep ‘em coming!

Year 300 appears twice and there’s no year 1582. And for all dates in between, the displayed date doesn’t match up… Thanks to Mark for sending this one in!
